ECHOLOCATION EYEWEAR
Branding
As a glasses and contacts wearer myself, I am known to say the phrase “blind as a bat” quite often. I wanted to create a high-end, inclusive, and fun brand. Echolocation is the thing that allows bats to “see,” just as glasses and contacts help us humans see. I was inspired to work with a funky, clean type idea that I had discarded while doing my Trader Joe’s re-packaging, which used a variety of x and y heights. In my logo, the “O” and the “C,” resemble sound waves created when a bat screeches. They also double as contact lenses, eyes, or a phoropter. I animated the logo in After Effects as a pair of eyes looking around, which is an asset I had never worked with before.
